Rücker AG: Positive signs in the 3rd quarter
Downturn stopped – operating performance and annual financial statement gratifying – early economy measures pay off.

Rücker AG, Wiesbaden has achieved a clearly positive operating performance (EBIT) and an annual surplus once more in the nine months to date of this year. Despite the considerable burdens following on from the global economic and financial crisis and repercussions thereof on the international automobile and aviation industries the stock-market-listed engineering Company was in the black again in the 3rd quarter.
Rücker sales did indeed reduce – as against the 3rd quarter of the previous year – by 26.7 percent to 97.2 million Euro up to 30 September. The Company had reacted promptly however by way of precaution to the reduction in the order book with a comprehensive package of measures which included inter alia optimisation of personnel and fixed costs plus structural improvements and short-time working. Hence despite the clear reduction in sales the downturn in the preceding quarter was halted and at 1.5 million Euro (2008: 8.2 million Euro) a satisfactory EBIT was successfully achieved. At 536,000 Euro the annual surplus was similarly positive.
CEO Wolfgang Rücker stated with reference to the progress of business this fiscal year that: “We are optimistic that we have been able to put a very difficult phase behind us. For we profit from the now pleasingly increasing demand for engineering services for the international automobile and aviation industries and from our clear strategic orientation as a technological development company.
Thus we have been saved possible structure-conditioned problems by which supplier industry companies can be particularly affected.“
For the 4th quarter and hence for the overall annual result as based on the order book Wolfgang Rücker anticipates “no unpleasant surprises.”
