Rücker AG: downturn after a record 2008

More engineers sought - 50 vacancies need filling immediately

Wiesbaden, 13 March 2009

Rücker AG achieved turnover and earnings growth in the 2008 financial year despite an increasingly difficult economic climate. Preliminary annual figures showed the publicly quoted engineering group, a market leader in supplying development engineering goods and services to the world's aviation and automobile industries, increased its turnover in 2008 by over 4 percent to 176.3 million Euros (2007: 168.9 million Euros). Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased to 11.0 million Euros (2007 9.3 million Euros). Annual profits improved even more from 4.5 (in 2007) to 6.5 million Euros.

Sales revenue 2009 will be below that of last year due to the financial and economic crisis. Project delays will also have deleterious effects on turnover and revenue. Rücker AG is combating all this by further optimising its fixed costs and adjusting capacity as well as short-time working to a minor extent. The group nevertheless still hopes to recruit 50 engineers.

What will happen in 2009 cannot reliably be predicted under current circumstances. The good results of last year are unlikely to be achieved, though.

The group's board will report comprehensively on 2008 and what it expects for 2009 on 25 March 2009 on 25 March in Frankfurt/M.
