RÜCKER AG achieves strong growth
Sales volume and operating profits jumped in the third quarter – The order situation remains good - Optimistic prognosis for the 2011 financial year
Wiesbaden, 02 November 2011
Rücker AG of Wiesbaden, Germany, a publicly quoted and internationally active engineering contractor, achieved major increases in turnover and profits for the quarter thanks to an excellent order situation. Year-on-year group turnover for the first three quarters of 2011 was 17 percent up at 130.1 million Euros (the comparable figure for 2010 was 111.4 million Euros). Domestic business jumped 25 percent and hence made the major contribution here.
Rücker AG thus profited from increased car sales and climbing demand for automobile products. The positive trend is predicted to continue. By the end of the year an increase in global car sales from 58.9 to 62 million vehicles is expected.
As fixed costs did not rise proportionately this strong growth in turnover improved the group’s profits disproportionately. EBIT went up 33.9 percent to 7.4 million Euros (5.6 million Euros). After interest and taxes this left 4.5 million Euros as of 30 September 2011. That’s a year-on-year improvement of 26.7 percent (3.6 million Euros). Costs for investment in property, plant, equipment and software climbed this year to 3.8 million Euros (2.4 million Euros).
On 30 September the group employed 2,387 people worldwide (2,235 people). As the order situation is good we need to recruit a further 500 engineers.
Wolfgang Rücker, chairman of Rücker AG, is optimistic where this financial year is concerned. “We assume that the positive turnover and profits trends will be maintained in the last quarter of 2011. That in turn means our figures for this year as a whole will be much better than for last year”, he stated.
