Rücker AG is successful and pays a good dividend
Dividend increase of 50 percent - 0.45 Euros a share - Successful 2010 financial year - Share price doubled in one year
08 June 2011
The publicly quoted engineering contractor Rücker of Wiesbaden, Germany, once again pays an excellent dividend thanks not least to its aggressive policy in this field and has its shareholders participate in its success. The group’s shareholders’ annual general meeting on 08 June 2011 (today) in Wiesbaden chaired by the group supervisory board chairman Tomas Mielert followed the proposal put forward by the group's board and supervisory board and agreed a dividend increase by 50 percent to 0.45 Euros a share for the 2010 financial year (0.30 Euros a share in 2009). The dividend is once again free of tax as it is paid out of reserves on which all tax has already been paid. Wolfgang Rücker, group chairman of Rücker AG, told the shareholders that “A dividend of 0.45 Euros a share at a share price of 14 Euros is a profit of 3.2 percent after tax, 4.5 percent before tax”. This puts us up there with the top dividend payers in DAX after RWE, EON, Telecom and Muenchner Rueck in fifth place. 25 DAX companies pay less.
Well filled order books and demand increases enabled us to do very well in 2010. Business was characterised by a greatly, improved order situation and very gratifying growth. Turnover increased 15.7 percent to 151.9 million Euros. EBIT 2010 was over double that for 2009 and increased thanks to a higher volume of business to 8.1 million Euros. Profit totalled 4.8 million €, triple that for the year before. With a capital ratio of 43.8 percent the group has a really solid financial structure that compares well both with other medium-sized companies.
Rücker’s financial director Juergen Vogt gave details at the meeting of the improvement in the value of the group’s shares. “A successful 2010 financial year is reflected in the value of our shares. This improvement is considerably above average. Our shares cost about 7 Euros each a year ago. They are now worth over double at rather more than 14 Euros each. If you bought our shares a year ago you’d now have realised a profit on the value of over 100% plus a dividend of over 6%”.
Rücker AG is profiting, and will profit, from the shorter development cycles in the automobile industry as new models are introduced onto the market at ever shorter intervals. Briefer development cycles mean a climb in demand for engineering goods and services for our group as we are mainly concerned with virtual product development. Our clients in the automobile, aircraft and mechanical engineering industries are also hard at work developing more economical, more environment friendly and quieter products. This is yet another development that brings us plenty of business. We invested in expanding our internal IT infrastructure and test plant in the past financial year to ensure we’re optimally equipped to face the growth and growing competition expected in the future. The cost in 2010 was 3.4 million Euros, considerably more than the 1.8 million Euros invested in the 2009 financial year.
The group employed 2,202 engineers and designers as of the end of 2010. In view of growing demand and the continued growth associated with it recruiting sufficient engineering professionals remains a challenge as there is currently a major lack of such personnel on the market. We have therefore redoubled our recruiting efforts. At the moment we’re looking for another 500 engineers and designers for immediate employment.
Wolfgang Rücker was optimistic about the rest of the current financial year. “We began 2011 very well and believe turnover will continue to grow. However, the highly satisfactory results achieved last year and so far this mustn’t seduce us into resting on our laurels. We must continue to grow and to safeguard and improve our market position through commitment and creativity”.
