Rücker AG does well despite the crisis
A drop in business in the first quarter of 2009 - Positive EBIT – Major change in turnover year-on-year - Comprehensive bundle of measures

Despite major problems due to the global crisis and its effects on carmakers and their suppliers Rücker achieved positive results for the first quarter of 2009. The publicly quoted engineering group 's earnings before interest and taxes in the first quarter of 2009 were 334,000 Euros. A fall in orders and delays to many projects caused major deviations year-on-year. Group earnings before interest and taxes in the first quarter last year were 2.1 million Euros. Post-tax revenue for the last quarter was 25,000 Euro (1.1 million in the first quarter of 2008). The fall in business this year affected turnover development as well. It fell in the first quarter of 2009 by 19.2 percent to 34.8 million Euros (2008: 43.1 million Euros).
The group took early and comprehensive measures to stabilise its revenues despite the fall in business. They include further optimisation of fixed costs, structural improvements and short-time working.

The Rücker group of Wiesbaden, Germany, was founded in 1970 by its current chairman Wolfgang Rücker. It went public in 2000 and is now a leading globally active supplier of technical development goods and services to the aviation and automobile industries.
